ABOUT THE ROLE

Etpa is a power exchange active in the Netherlands and Germany. We are growing rapidly, with revenues having tripled over the past two years and the overall power markets expanding at double-digit rates. Our trading platform is developed in-house, allowing us to challenge incumbent competitors while expanding into other markets and EU geographies to capture a larger share of the market. We hold the NEMO license to operate a regulated power exchange and share order books with other European exchanges.

To support our continued growth and strengthen our financial operations, we are looking for a proactive, analytical, and data-driven Business Controller. In this role, you will be responsible for financial planning, analysis, and performance monitoring. You will work closely with the CFO, Finance Controller (0.6 FTE), and our operations team to support data-driven decision-making and ensure consistency across our systems.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Provide business and financial analysis and insights to support strategic and operational decisions.

  • Build or maintain the central datastore that Etpa uses to reconcile data between the Etpa platform and its accounting software.

  • Assist the operations team with data-related matters concerning participants and grid operators.

  • Monitor business performance and prepare management reports.

  • Review the month-end closing activities performed by the Finance Controller.

  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

  • Identify financial risks and opportunities for improvement.

  • Support the CFO in driving financial strategy and performance.

  • Provide insights into financial performance and develop core KPIs.

  • Assist the organization with data-related matters concerning compliance and security monitoring/reporting.

We have three offices, one in Valletta, one in Amsterdam and one in Novi Sad. We are searching for a Business Controller who will join the local team in Amsterdam. This role is office based with the opportunity to work from home two days a week.
